Emilia Perez's Soundtrack Wins the TIFF Tribute Variety Artisan Award
French songwriting and composing duo Camille Dalmais and Clément Ducol have receievd yesterday the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival Variety Artisan Award, which recognizes a distinguished creative or in this case, creatives, who has excelled at their craft and made an outstanding contribution to cinema and entertainment.
Dalmais and Ducol are prominent figures in the French music scene. Dalmais is known for her vocal style and blending of pop, folk and avant-garde elements and Ducol for his creative arrangements and musical prowess.
Emilia Pérez has garnered universal acclaim since its unveiling in May at the Cannes Film Festival, where it won the Jury Prize and the Best Actress Award, shared among stars Zoe Saldaña, Karla Sofía Gascón, Selena Gomez, and Adriana Paz. Their dynamic performances and Audiard’s assured writing and direction are key to the film’s success — as are the creative contributions of singer-songwriter Camille and composer Clément Ducol, who worked to create the 16 original songs featured in the movie, along with its affecting score.
